First stop in the USA was Ripon, Wisconsin. Where my mother grew up.. oh, and the birthplace of the republican party.
We went for a family reunion and to put my grandmother Jake to rest. The whole family rented a house on Green Lake. It was a really great weekend. We hit all the spots, saw the old houses and ran into a few of their old family friends. My grandparents were very well loved and respected in the community My grandfather was the Mayor and my grandmother worked at the high school. Listening to the stories is always pretty funny. My grandfather was a character to say the least..
Lots of brandy manhattans were consumed, her favorite drink.
