Welcome to Marrekech

I took this photo out of the plane. It looks like it could be where Spain ends and Africa Begins...but I don't know... It looked cool either way.

I heart Paris

Street Art

Jardin du Luxembourg

Artifact

Astonishing. These pieces are all made from Vintage Found Needlework by Frederique Morrel and her husband Aaron Levin. There were a lot of different forms. There are life size trophy sculptures of animal heads...which I would love to have above the fireplace. The labor put into each piece is extrodinary. Their website and manifesto is something to check out, read and think about. They are quite the 'Power Couple'.

LARGE GREEN GNOME

The picture does not do it justice! They were quite LARGE! and very green. I got a good laugh and would love to walk into someone's garden and see this.

He is Everywhere....

This is MJ circa Thriller. It is pretty funny. The company is called Love It or Burn It.
I am not sure which I would do... I do love Thriller as my sister can attest to, or anyone else for that matter when I was 7 and dancing to MJ all day and night.

Obsessed

The porcelain ring and necklace from Kilian Schindler are stunning. It is a modern take on the insignia rings. You can buy them plain or have your intial(s) added, they are available in S, M, L.
The Necklace is very expensive (@$3500 retail)... It is a very long and difficult process to complete one without breaking, so they are only made to order. He is a very young and very cool guy. He explained how he makes them..and was willing to sell me the E ring he had on the stand that was in my size..but being unemployed.....
I did tell him I was going to Milan on Oct 1st..And I would be going to Rossana Oralndi to get one if I can not get it out of my mind, since that is where he sells it.
It has only been one day and I can not stop thinking about it.
I saw Rossana Oralndi at the show. She was so chic I couldn't stand it. She was wearing three of these necklaces and dressed in all shades of grey with grey glasses..
I can not wait to go see her store in October and walk out with my ring!!!

Campfire Grill

These two pieces from the Belgian company Extremis would be great for thinking you are in the woods when you are actually in the backyard of your super modern home.
I love the grill piece..although it doesn't look like it could support much food.. ? Which would not be usefull at my place.
either way great looking. And the guy who designs it.. Dirk.. looks exatcly like another Belgian I know..

Design from Thailand

The Deesawat Industries Co. booth at the show and was so pretty. Their Manifesto is fantastic!
"Outdoor lifestyle is a synonmym for siesta. A sacred moment when the time is suspended in the coolness of the shade where sleep, dreams and idelness take over, allowing us to treasure the moments stolen from time itself."

It is all beautifully made and also extremely functional. The Stick collection can all be combined. So you could put the birdhouse, the table and the coat hook all into the bench. Not to mention the people in the working were super nice and welcoming.

BacSac.

At merci.

At the show.
It is a portable garden. It can go inside, outside, and on your back (in the backpack version)!
I love it. And Merci has them all over the outside of the store and in the entryway. Really cool.

Japan's Prime Minsiter's Wife

WHAT IS GOING ON IN JAPAN.
Have you heard these reports about the wife of the new Prime Minister?
She eats the sun, she has been to Venus by spaceship, and she knew Tom Cruise in a Previous Life when he was Japanese. (which could explain the height)... and maybe my sisters dream last week...?
Holy Crap! There are interviews and You tube's all over about it. Can you imagine if this went on in the US.

Miyuki Hatoyama
Will be a great source of entertainment for a long time..!!

Sartorialist in Paris

the Sartorialist will be at Colette on Saturday signing books. It should be pretty funny to see how everyone will dress to be there...You think they will all be over the top hoping to make it into the blog? Should be pretty interesting.
ND went to check out Merci and loved it. I am so excited to go check it out. Love the concept!

what feels like a long time.. I am finally here in Paris.
The last week was long and I was anxious to get going.
It is raining today, Really raining. So today I will make the journey up to the show.
ND is great and busy; work mode. She impresses me all the time. She has worked so hard to get to where she is. Had dinner last night at Cafe Ruc... Les Tres Vertes (my favorite).
